I am curious if there is anyway to get this working on android? I installed firefox nightly, enabled dev mode and installed the script through tampermonkey but there doesn't seem to be a way to get a pop up via this method. Appreciate this might not be possible, thanks again.
Thank you Stuart, it works perfectly. I can finally filter out all the political rubbish and doomsday posts. My mental health thanks you
Glad you like it! That was my reason for creating the script. 😅 I was using it privately and then thought I might as well share it, since others might find it useful. Between filtering out toxic politics, sports-related content, and rage-bait, my blocklist is 1194 lines long!

I use it on Android, as well. I use Violentmonkey on Regular Firefox for Android and it seems to work just fine. After installing Violentmonkey, press the three-dot menu in the bottom right-hand corner beside the indicator that shows how many tabs you have open. The menu pops up. Press 'Extensions' and then 'Violentmonkey'. From there you can press the + sign and install the userscript code or configure the userscript's block list from that page. I imagine it's probably almost identical for Tampermonkey.
From there I just created a shortcut to the Reddit homepage via Firefox and I access it that way instead of through the app. It works well for me so-far. Enjoy!
Note: Unfortunately, if the words you want to filter are contained in a picture, it won't be able to "see" those words and block them.
Works a treat now on android, thanks a lot for sharing the script and the android workaround. It´s actually crazy how little is posted on reddit when you filter out the political keywords and how much better I already feel not seeing all of the propaganda. If only we could inject it into everyone´s browsers, there´d be less hate and polarisation.
I can´t believe your blocklist is 1194 lines long!! Is there anything left on your feed? haha
What sort of keywords do you use to block out the rage bait?
Sorry Stuart I have another question for you and I can´t edit the above comment..
I´ve decided to give old.reddit a go on desktop to cut out the infinite scroll.
I see that you have @match *://old.reddit.com/* in your code but it isn´t filtering out my keywords. Does it only support new reddit?
Thanks
