Any reason why .patch files are not allowed as attachment?

I wanted to post a .patch file for an script, I did change, and in doing so a message tells me, that this kind of files is not allowed to upload.
Why is that so?

*.patch is not supported by Greasy Fork镜像. Just upload the next version and the diff will be generated automatically.

Well the problem is, it is not my script, I just did add some stuff to an existing script and wanted to provide a patch file instead of the full thing.

True, I did talk about the forum and not about the main site.
Thanks for enabling .patch file type.
