Masterwork?

So the masterwork professions look pretty difficult.
The problem is most of the tasks require very expensive materials that must be collected manually or bought for hihg price on the AH (so far). Not sure how useful gateway will be for this. Anyone looked into it?

And no mastercraft for Leadership of course. lel

I wish for a checkbox "max speed" or "best quality" for specific tasks or profiles. With the current tools, I could not do it.
