Youtube Video Ratings Bar with Power Meter

Puts a ratings bar below YouTube thumbnails displaying likes / dislikes, and also shows a "Power Meter" (in blue) to tell you how enthusiastic people are about each video. This helps you find the best of the best videos and avoid the bad ones.

This script calculates the enthusiasm people have for a video by comparing the number of 'Likes' to the total number of views, and it displays the results with a blue 'Power Meter'. This lets you find the best videos in search results and elsewhere and it also points out videos that perhaps aren't worth your time. It also shows a typical green / red 'Ratings Bar' (likes / dislikes), combining everything into a single bar below (or above) the thumbnail images like this:

The example on the right is of a rare case when the Power Meter is larger than the green 'Likes' bar. This will happen when the subject of a video is controversial and people are spamming 'Dislike' as a response to the controversy rather than the objective quality of the video itself. The Power Meter acts as a filter in these cases, helping you find the best videos about unpopular subjects.

The Power Meter needs an accurate view count to work. If YouTube has paused the view count (301+ views, more votes than views, etc) then the bar will have green stripes (image below) and the tooltip will say "View Count Incorrect".

I just recently remade the script from scratch, based on something I did a year ago called YouTube Ratings Bar with Like Strength." I'm barely a programmer, and there are some things that could use some tweaking with this script, but it's working well enough for me to release. Every now and then the ratings won't show up, but I think that's more of a YouTube problem than the script - YouTube has a similar issue with just loading thumbnail images whether my script is installed or not. Normally all you've got to do is refresh and maybe scroll around a bit to get them back.

If you want to customize the thickness of the bar, the colors, or put the bar above the thumbnails, check out this UserStyle:
